Arizona Coyotes First NHL Team to Relax Dress Code

The Arizona Coyotes are trend setters. Their management team has decided the players will not be required to wear a suit on game days, and have relaxed the team dress code.

The announcement came through as an ESPN survey was completed for all the teams across the league. Turns out the Coyotes were the only ones to relax their dress code. There's actually language in the collective bargaining agreement which states: "Players are required to wear jackets, ties and dress pants to all club games and while traveling to and from such games unless otherwise specified by the head coach or general manager".

Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun met with the media and had this to say about the new change to the closet:

(Meruelo) is very open to the idea of going to the game and growing our fan base and anything we can do to be a little unique and different, they're always open to trying different things. To be the first team to go no dress code was awesome. The guys loved it. I think it's great to be able to show a bit of your personality and your closet other than just your suits. I had fun with it. I enjoyed it. I'm glad it's something we'll continue to do.

The Coyotes are first and now we wait to see who else will follow suit.
