Big Update On Drew Doughty's Injury
Not only have the Los Angeles Kings lost defenseman Sean Walker for the entire season, but Drew Doughty is also now going to be missing a good amount of time. The 31-year-old defenseman has a right knee contusion and is expected to be out of the lineup for the next eight weeks.
Doughty was injured in a knee-on-knee collision with Dallas Stars defenseman Jani Hakanpaa on October 22nd. Although it could have been a lot worse, this still stings for the Kings.Drew Doughty update: he suffered a tibial plateau contusion. Will start skating around 6 weeks from now, hopefully resume play around 8 weeks.

Sean Walker update: he suffered a torn ACL and torn MCL. Will require surgery and is out for the season.
Per LA Kings GM Rob Blake
The Kings currently are at the bottom of the Pacific Division with a 1-4-1 record. Now, they will be without two of their top right-handed defensemen and that spells trouble. This is certainly disappointing, as the Kings were very aggressive this summer. They added Viktor Arvidsson, Phillip Danault and Alex Edler, but even with that, these injuries and their poor start have the potential to sink them very early on.
Before his injury, Doughty was off to a magnificent start this season. In four games, he scored a goal and recorded seven points. Here's to hoping the star recovery is right on schedule and he will dominate again when he returns.
