Binnington After Stick Swinging Incident: "I'm Not Crazy"
Jordan Binnington of the St Louis Blues has a bad temper and he can admit that. One thing he won't admit is that he's crazy and should be swinging his stick around the ice. The Blues netminder confirmed he doesn't condone his recent actions where he lost it.
Binnington's most recent freak out came on Thursday night when the Blues took on one of their biggest rivals in the Colorado Avalanche. Blues' public enemy #1 Nazem Kadri got in the grill of Binnington and the rest is history. He was assessed a 10-minute misconduct for his actions which included swinging his goalie stick around Kadri's head and flipping the puck down towards Avs' goalie Darcy Kuemper.
The Blues goalie met with the media and had this to say about his actions:
(The stick-swinging was) kind of the heat of the moment. I might have taken it a bit too far. I don't want to condone the stick-swinging. Having a guy sit in the box for 10 minutes isn't being a good teammate. I definitely don't want kids out there swinging their sticks. It's an emotional situation, emotions were high and it was a competitive game, and these are big games against a big team.
