Buffalo Sabres Reject Colorado Avalanche Trade Offer
The Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche have discussed a Jack Eichel trade and the Sabres have since rejected the Avalanche's offer for their captain.
The two teams discussed a number of different players, however the big elephant in the room was the fact Colorado wanted the Sabres to retain salary in the deal, and Buffalo wanted absolutely no part of it. The talks have since silenced as the Avs aren't interested in adding Eichel at full pop.
The Sabres continue to talk to a number of teams regarding their disgruntled injured captain. While the Avalanche are out as of right now, the Calgary Flames, New York Rangers, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild continue to be involved. So to are the Vegas Golden Knights who like the Avalanche want the Sabres to retain money.
As for Eichel, he remains in a battle with the Sabres and some have reported this may not be resolved this season. Tough news for the player and for all of us hockey fans who want to see a blockbuster deal. Let's hope things change quickly in Buffalo.
