Calgary Flames Forward Handed Suspension

Calgary Flames forward Blake Coleman has been suspended for one preseason game and one regular season game for boarding Winnipeg Jets forward Jansen Harkins.

On the play, Coleman received only a minor penalty for boarding in the second period of Wednesday's preseason tilt. The Flames would end up losing to the Jets 3-2.

With this, Coleman is going to miss the season opener, which is disappointing for Calgary fans who were excited to watch him. However, thankfully for them, it is a short suspension and he will be back when the Flames play their second game of the season against the Anaheim Ducks on October 18th.

The Flames signed Coleman to a six-year, $29.4 million contract this summer to help improve their offense. In 55 games last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, he scored 14 goals and recorded 31 points.
