Calgary Flames Place Forward On Waivers

The Calgary Flames have placed forward Glenn Gawdin on waivers. Vancouver Canucks forward Nic Petan also cleared them.

Gawdin suited up in two games with the Flames this season, but failed to get on the scoresheet. He made his NHL debut last season and played seven games with Calgary. In them, he recorded assist. He also scored four goals and had 13 points in 22 games with the Stockton Heat.

In the campaign before with Stockton, he was quite effective offensively. In 53 games, he scored 16 goals and recorded 47 points. Perhaps this could kind of production could spark another NHL team to give him a chance. Gawdin also plays a physical game, so he can be effective in more ways than one.

It will be interesting to see if the 24-year-old versatile forward gets claimed. He could be an interesting option for a rebuilding team looking to add more depth upfront.
