Carolina Hurricanes: 3 Players With Expiring Contracts

With the off-season completed, it feels right to take a preview into next year's. In this segment, we will be looking at three players from each team who have expiring contracts. Both restricted and unrestricted free agents are eligible for discussion.

In this piece, we will be looking at the Carolina Hurricanes. They have many notable players who with expiring contracts, so they will have themselves another busy summer.

Vincent Trocheck C (UFA): Vincent Trocheck will be looking for his big payday, and he ultimately deserves it. He's a very talented center who is capable of producing a lot of points. In 47 games this past season, he scored 17 goals and recorded 43 points. During the 2017-18 season, he also had 75 points in 82 games with the Florida Panthers. He is one of the top UFA centers heading into next off-season, so Carolina should work hard to extend him now.

Martin Necas C/RW (RFA): Martin Necas is an extremely important player for the team to lock up. The 22-year-old forward is continuing to improve with each season. In 53 games last season, he scored 14 goals and had 41 points. Expect even more from his this go-around. He is certainly due for a big raise next summer.

Nino Niederreiter RW (RFA): Nino Niederreiter had himself a solid year this past season, as he scored 20 goals and had 34 points in 56 games. If he has another season like that, he should be able to get a lot of attention if he hits the open market. The Hurricanes should look to keep around if it works for them financially.

Other Players With Expiring Deals: Jesperi Kotkaniemi C/LW (RFA), Ethan Bear D (RFA), Tony DeAngelo D (RFA), Ian Cole D (UFA)
