Smith suffered a lower-body injury and now will miss at least one week of action. The Oilers have recalled Stuart Skinner in the meantime from their AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors. Skinner is off to a hot start so far in 2021-22 as he's put up two wins and a 1.50 GAA and a .946 save %. Impressive numbers that should warrant Skinner a look in the next week in Edmonton.
Edmonton gets back on the ice on Thursday as the team will face the Arizona Coyotes.
