Edmonton Oilers Sign Veteran Forward
The Edmonton Oilers have signed Colton Sceviour to a one-year, two-way contract. It will pay him $750,000 at the NHL level and $200,000 in the minors. The 32-year-old winger originally signed a PTO with the team for the preseason.
Sceviour will give the Oilers a bit more forward depth this regular season. With Josh Archibald out indefinitely, Sceviour is likely to take over his role in the bottom-six. He's capable of playing fourth-line minutes and can be utilized on the penalty kill.
In 46 games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sceviour scored five goals and recorded 10 points in a similar role. He's coming off of a strong preseason with the Oilers as well, as he had three assists.
Nonetheless, congrats to Colton for making the team!
