General Manager Marc Bergevin Comments On Future With Montreal Canadiens
Although the Montreal Canadiens have not agreed on an extension with general manager Marc Bergevin, he made it abundantly clear during his Wednesday afternoon press conference that he wants a new deal with the team.
Earlier this month, Frank Seravalli made a prediction that Bergevin will end up leaving the Canadiens next summer. He also noted that if the Canadiens had won the Stanley Cup last season, there were rumors that he would have left the team then.Marc Bergevin affirms he absolutely wants a new contract with the Canadiens.

However, if Bergevin has it his way, he will be sticking around with the Canadiens past this season. Bergevin has been the general manager of the Canadiens since the 2012-13 season. Since then, he placed second for the General Manager of the Year Award on two different occasions, including for last season. That was entirely understandable, as the underdog Canadiens made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final.
