Los Angeles Kings: 3 Players With Expiring Contracts

With the off-season almost completed, it feels right to take a preview into next year's. In this segment, we will be looking at three players from each team who have expiring contracts. Both restricted and unrestricted free agents are eligible for discussion.

In this piece, we will be focusing on the Los Angeles Kings. They have a handful of interesting players with expiring contracts. One player specifically has been with the team for the entirety of his long career.

Dustin Brown RW (UFA): Dustin Brown is about to enter his 18th season with the Kings. At this point of his career, he is still quite effective. In 49 games last season, he scored 17 goals and recorded 31 points. If the former LA captain can put up another year like that, it would be strange if the Kings decide not to bring him back.

Adrian Kempe LW/C (RFA): Adrian Kempe is capable of producing solid offense, so he will be an intriguing player to watch. In 56 games this past season, he scored 14 goals and had 29 points. He is a player who is capable of hitting 40 points over an 82-game schedule. Furthermore, he also works on both the power play and penalty kill, so he does a bit of everything.

Gabriel Vilardi C (RFA): This is a big year for Gabriel Vilardi. The 2017 11th overall pick has had some success in the NHL, but has the potential to get even better. In 54 games this past season, he scored 10 goals and recorded 23 points. This was the most amount of NHL action he has ever had, so he should be able to produce more this go-around. If he has himself a big year, he will surely land himself a nice raise.
