Sean Walker update: he suffered a torn ACL and torn MCL. Will require surgery and is out for the season.
Per LA Kings GM Rob Blake
This is horrible news for the Kings, as Walker is one of their most important defensemen. He had a breakout campaign with the team during the 2019-20 season when he had five goals and 24 points in 70 games. He then followed that up with 18 points in just 47 games the following season. Thus, it certainly is disappointing that fans now won't be able to see what he's capable of this year.
Walker's 2021-22 season ends with him playing just six games. In them, he recorded two assists.
The Kings are having a rough week, as Drew Doughty also has been ruled out for at least the next eight weeks due to a right knee contusion. Therefore, their defense is now in very bad shape and it's still just the beginning of the season.
