Byfield has been aiming to make Los Angeles' opening night roster and stood a real shot to do so. However, it seems very likely that he will end up missing some time, at least.Kings coach Todd McLellan says he doesn’t know the extent of Quinton Byfield’s injury. ‘Lower body injury.’ Left leg/ankle is what it appeared on teevee. Tough setback for the kid and for the Kings.

The Kings selected Byfield with the second overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He is expected to become a top-of-the-line player for the team and has a very bright future. In 32 games last season with the Ontario Reign, he scored eight goals and recorded 20 points. He also played six games with the Kings and had an assist.
Here's to hoping the severity of his injury is nothing too major and he can return to the ice shortly.
