Maple Leafs Jake Muzzin Calls Out His Teammates After Poor Start
The Toronto Maple Leafs were embarrassed on Saturday night as the Pittsburgh Penguins put up a touchdown on them. Leafs defenseman Jake Muzzin was not happy with his team's performance and didn't shy away from making comments after the game.
Muzzin met with the media recently and had this to say about his team's play early on this season:
We've got to go back to the drawing board. We're going to have to work a lot harder to win. It's inexcusable. Myself, everyone. We need to be better.
Mitch Marner would go on to suggest there's no point to panic at this point and reiterated the fact it's still early in the season. The Leafs have started 2-3-1 and you would think the team was 10 games under .500 with all the negative coverage in the media.
The Maple Leafs take on an old friend in Frederik Andersen and the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night and let's just say this game feels a lot more important to the franchise than a regular 7th game of the regular season.
