Matt Murray Out For The Ottawa Senators
In Saturday's game against the New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators goaltender Matt Murray had to leave early after getting kneed in the head by Chris Kreider. Now, the 27-year-old goaltender has been placed on IR with a neck injury, according to TSN. With this, he will be out for a minimum of 10 days. This comes after the announcement of Shane Pinto's upper-body injury.
This is rough news for Murray. It seemed likely that he would have to miss some time after the collision, so it's not all that surprising. However, it's always hard to see a player go down, especially in that kind of way.
Murray's coming off of a hard first season with the Senators and is looking to bounce back. In 27 games, he had a 10-13-1 record and .893 SV%. However, he's been on a roll to start this season. In two games, he may have an 0-1 record, but he also sports a 1.60 GAA and .936 SV%.
Here's to hoping both him and Pinto can return shortly. Each are key players for the Senators this season.
