Montreal Canadiens Claim Adam Brooks
When it was announced that Adam Brooks was put on waivers, it seemed very likely that his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs would be over. Now, the Montreal Canadiens have claimed the 25-year-old center.
In 11 games last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brooks scored four goals and added an assist. He also scored four goals and had 13 points in 17 games with the Toronto Marlies. During the previous season with the Marlies, he recorded 20 points in 29 games as well. The Canadiens have claimed forward Adam Brooks off waivers.https://t.co/5RDQkpQoA1#GoHabsGo

The Canadiens lost multiple centers this off-season, so it's not surprising to see them add Brooks for free. He has the potential to blossom into a solid point producer in the NHL and showed signs of that this season. When looking at Monteal's depth down the middle this season, he does stand a good shot of being a regular in their lineup, too.
The Leafs certainly must be upset that they lost this young forward to a division rival. We will have to wait and see how Brooks performs this season with Montreal.
