Montreal Canadiens Forward Out With Eye Injury
The Montreal Canadiens originally announced Sunday afternoon that veteran forward Mathieu Perreault would be out for the next two-to-three weeks with an eye injury. Yet, his timeline could very well change, as it was just reported by Eric Engels that Perreault has a detached retina and discovered he has Lattice Retinal Degeneration. Perreault will be reevaluated in a few weeks.
Perreault signed with the Canadiens during the off-season and has done quite well thus far. In eight games, he has three goals and an assist. He also has a +3 rating, which is certainly nothing to scoff at when looking at Montreal's 2-7-0 record.Mathieu Perreault started having some double vision and doctors realized his retina had detached. He found out he's got a condition called Lattice Retinal Degeneration. Had a small laser procedure to cure right eye and will be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks.

Eye injuries are always rough to hear about, but thankfully, Perreault's shouldn't keep him out of action for too long. Even if he isn't considered a star player for the Canadiens, he's been an effective forward for them, so he will be missed during his absence.
