Montreal Canadiens Head Coach Calls Out His Team
The Montreal Canadiens are free falling and their head coach isn't impressed with the team's desire to win. Dominique Ducharme was very critical of his team after their latest loss to the Carolina Hurricanes and he certainly didn't mince words.
Ducharme met with the media and had this to say:
Anyone can bury us right now and we don’t care. Seriously…we don’t care. We’re gonna take care of business and we’ll finish where we deserve to finish
Tough start to the season for the Habs as their general manager Marc Bergevin noticed the panic from above and called an impromptu press conference a few days ago to quiet the trade buzz. The Canadiens GM made it known the team won't make any drastic changes and is going to have to ride out this bad start as a group.
The Canadiens are playing without a few of their best players and it's starting to show for sure. Add in slow starts to almost all the forwards in their top-9 group and it's a recipe for disaster. Some are even calling for the coach to be held accountable as Ducharme's record doesn't necessarily jump off the page in the regular season:
Dominique Ducharme is 15-21-5 as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, 1-9 in his last 10 going back to last year's SCF vs. Tampa Bay. #GoHabsGo

Keep an eye on the Habs. Their GM needs a contract, they host the draft next season and won't be dealing their first-round pick and the team is an absolute mess. Long gone are the days of being a Stanley Cup finalist. Sports - what have you done for me lately.
