Montreal Canadiens Sign Young Forward To Extension
The Montreal Canadiens have signed Jake Evans to a three-year extension. It will have an average annual value of $1.7 million and begin during the 2022-23 season.
Evans cemented himself as a legitimate NHLer this past season. In 47 games with the Canadiens, he scored three goals and recorded 13 points. He not only provided solid depth scoring, but he also became a big part of their penalty kill. The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with forward Jake Evans.#GoHabsGo https://t.co/tWv15IYfld

Heading into this season, he will surely be a mainstay on their penalty kill yet again. Furthermore, with the team having multiple departures at center this off-season, he could also find himself on their third-line as well.
Overall, this is a good move for the Canadiens, as Evans has good upside and the cap hit is very affordable.
