New Jersey Devils Place Jack Hughes On IR
After taking a huge hit from Jeremy Lauzon in Tuesday night's tilt against the Seattle Kraken, Jack Hughes has now been placed on IR. He has a dislocated left shoulder that does not require surgery. He is going to be re-evaluated next week.
Although having to get surgery would have made the situation a lot worse, it still is hard to hear that Hughes is going to miss some time. The 2019 first overall pick has started this season on fire, as he has two goals and an assist in two games. He seems to be destined for his true breakout campaign, but this is a notable setback.#NEWS: Jack Hughes suffered a dislocation of his left shoulder and will not require surgery. He has begun physical therapy.

After making a number of key additions this summer, the Devils have started the regular season off well, too. They won their first two games and looking to surprise people by being a true threat in the Metropolitan Division. Yet, losing Hughes, even if it ends up being for a short while, still could negatively impact their chances of doing so.
Here's to hoping Jack can return shortly, as he's a real joy to watch.
