New Jersey Devils Provide Big Update Regarding Jack Hughes' Injury
The New Jersey Devils announced Friday afternoon that center Jack Hughes' left shoulder dislocation is stable. The team also noted that he will be re-evaluated in five weeks.
Hughes was injured earlier this month after taking a big hit from Seattle Kraken defenseman Jeremy Lauzon. Originally, it was reported that he would be out day-to-day, but that obviously has changed rather significantly. However, with there also being no unforeseen issues, it's fair to state that it could have been a lot worse for the 20-year-old.#UPDATE: Following Hughes' one-week follow-up, it was determined that his left shoulder dislocation is stable, there are no unforeseen issues.

This is a huge campaign for Hughes, as he is in the final year of his entry-level contract and he is looking to breakout. Before the injury occurred, he was already off to a hot start, as he had two goals and an assist in two games.
The Devils will be without their key center now for the next few weeks at a minimum. So far without him, they've remained competitive. In five games on the season, they have a 3-2-0 record. Even with their winning record, they are currently last in the Metropolitan Division.
