New Jersey Devils Sign Frederik Gauthier
The New Jersey Devils have signed Frederik Gauthier to a one-year, two-way contract. It will pay him $800,000 at the NHL level and $175,000 in the minors. The 26-year-old center was on a professional tryout contract with the team and now will be sticking around.
Gauthier played just two games in the NHL this past season with the Arizona Coyotes. In them, he was held off the scoresheet. In 18 games with the Tucson Roadrunners, he scored two goals and had seven points.#NEWS: We have signed forward Frederik Gauthier to a one-year, two-way contract. #NJDevils | @investorsbank https://t.co/L645l0ngZk

Gauthier will now provide New Jersey with more depth offensively. This is important, especially when injuries inevitably occur during the season. Whether he is in their bottom-six, a 13th forward or playing in the AHL with the Utica Comets, it certainly is not a bad thing that they signed him.
