New Jersey Devils Waive Young Defenseman
The New Jersey Devils have placed defenseman Colton White on waivers.
White was selected by the Devils 97th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Over the last four seasons, he has appeared in 13 NHL contests for the Devils and has not been able to become a mainstay in their top-six. He did make the team out of camp, though. In 27 games with the Binghamton Devils last season, he scored a goal and had seven points as an alternate captain. His best season in the minors came during the 2018-19 season, as he recorded 30 points in 71 games. Thus, there could be more to his game offensively.
Teams who are dealing with some injury trouble on the backend could elect to give the 24-year-old a shot. He didn't look too out of place with the Devils this season and does have the potential to play bottom-pair minutes.
