New York Islanders Announce Contract Details For Two More Players

Although fans knew that Kieffer Bellows and Cory Schneider were re-signed by the New York Islanders, the details of their contracts were not released to the public. Now, that has changed. Bellows has signed a one-year, one-way contract that will carry a $750,000 cap hit. Schneider's is a two-way deal for the season. It will pay him $750,000 at the NHL level and $500,000 in the minors.
Bellows, a former first-round pick, will be looking to have his breakout campaign with the Islanders. In 14 games last season in the NHL, he scored three goals. During the previous year, he scored 22 goals and had nine assists in 52 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He also scored two goals and added an assist in eight games with the Islanders.

Schneider will be the team's third goaltender. He held the same role with the Islanders last season, but failed to get into any NHL action. He did, however, play two games with the Sound Tigers. With them, he had a 0-1-1 record and .843 SV%.
