The New York Islanders have crossed off a big item from their to-do list. They have signed defenseman Ryan Pulock to an eight-year extension that will pay him just under $50 million in total. It comes with a full no-trade clause for the first five years and then a limited NTC for its final three seasons. The contract will begin during the 2022-23 season.

With this, the Islanders now have the Pelech-Pulock pair locked up for a very long time. They've blossomed into a spectacular duo and are a monstrous reason behind the success the Islanders' success these last few seasons.
The Islanders originally drafted Pulock with the 13th overall pick of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. It took him until the 2017-18 season to become a mainstay in their lineup, but since then, he's played extremely well. In 290 career games thus far, he has 33 goals, 92 assists and 125 points. In 56 games last season, he scored two goals and had 17 points.
