Ottawa Senators Acquire Forward From San Jose Sharks
The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Dylan Gambrell from the San Jose Sharks for a 2022 seventh-round pick.
The Sharks waived Gambrell before the start of the regular season. In three games with the San Jose Barracuda, he was held off the scoresheet.News Release: The #Sens have acquired forward Dylan Gambrell in a trade with @SanJoseSharks: https://t.co/zekTTOj4Wc pic.twitter.com/8Jfhqd3iAt

Gambrell previously had a permanent spot in San Jose's bottom-six, but the team went in a different direction this season. In 49 games, he scored five goals and had 12 points. During the previous season with the Sharks, he scored five goals and had 11 points.
When it comes to his role with Ottawa, he could wiggle himself into their bottom-six. At a minimum, though, he should be a solid depth forward for the team. There is literally no risk as well for the Senators with this move, so it's hard to complain about it.
Nonetheless, here's to hoping the change of scenery can help benefit him. It seems like it was needed and now he has a chance to Ottawa what he's capable of.
