Report: Montreal Canadiens Sign Nick Suzuki To Big Extension
The Montreal Canadiens have signed center Nick Suzuki to an eight-year extension. It will have an average annual value of $7.875 million and begins during the 2022-23 season.
We recently reported that the Canadiens were expected to start extension talks with Suzuki, so it's not too surprising seeing him now locked up.The Canadiens have agreed to terms on an eight-year, $63 million contract extension (2022-22 to 2029-30) with forward Nick Suzuki.#GoHabsGo https://t.co/6P7fyND1VU

Suzuki took a huge step forward this past season with the Canadiens. In 56 games, he scored 15 goals and recorded 41 points. With that, his defensive play was very strong and he became a mainstay on their penalty kill. Heading into this season, he will be their first-line center, so expectations will be high.
With Suzuki still only being 22 years old, he should only get better from here. In 127 games over two seasons with Montreal, he has 28 goals, 54 assists and 82 points.
