Rumor: St. Louis Blues Won't Trade Vladimir Tarasenko This Season

According to Dan Rosen, there is a very good chance that Vladimir Tarasenko will finish the season still as a member of the St. Louis Blues. Although the 29-year-old openly requested a trade from the team this summer, a move did not occur. With it now being the regular season and the Blues looking to remain contenders, it seems rather unlikely that they would move Tarasenko while on the hunt for another Stanley Cup.

That's not to say that the Blues didn't try to move the disgruntled winger. They were listening to offers for him all summer, but they simply couldn't find the right deal for them. They even left Tarasenko unprotected at the Expansion Draft, but the Seattle Kraken decided to go with Vince Dunn.

Tarasenko has dealt a lot of injury trouble as of late. He played just 34 games with the Blues over the last two seasons. In them, he scored seven goals and had 24 points. With this and his $7.5 million cap hit, his trade value was not as high as it could have been. Yet, now that he's healthy, he can help raise his value back up by having another strong campaign.

In four games this season with the Blues, he has a goal and four points. Therefore, it's safe to say that he looks more like his old self. If he keeps this production up, he should get a ton of interest around the league - assuming he still wants a trade by then.
