San Jose Sharks Defenseman To Miss Serious Time
San Jose Sharks defenseman Nikolai Knyzhov has a lower-body injury that requires surgery. As a result of this, he is expected to miss the next eight-to-ten weeks for the Sharks.
Knyzhov was a nice surprise for San Jose last season, as he cemented his spot in the team's top-six and did well as a rookie. He suited up in all 56 games for the team, where he had two goals and eight assists. During the previous season, he began his North American career with the San Jose Barracuda. In 33 games with the AHL club, he scored a goal and had five points. He also played his first three games with San Jose, but was held off the scoresheet.Knyzhov out 8 to 10 weeks following surgery on Oct. 22

He's an interesting player to pay attention to this season, but for the next two months at least, he will be out of action. However, once he is back, he should continue to be an important piece of the Sharks' backend.
