Seattle Kraken Announce Their First ECHL Affiliate

The Seattle Kraken have announced that their new ECHL affiliate will be the Allen Americans. The two franchises signed their agreement yesterday and the Kraken's prospects will be able to play there this very season.

Thus, the Kraken now will have players in their system playing for the AHL's Charlotte Checkers and the Americans. However, it is important to note that the Kraken's AHL affiliate will be in Palm Springs, California during the 2022-23 season. A team name for them has yet to be announced, though.

Overall, this is a good move for both franchises. It will be intriguing to see how many of Seattle's prospects end up playing in Allen this season. Who knows? Maybe if they have success there, they will be eventually claw their ways up to the NHL in the future.
