Seattle Kraken Claim Alex Barre-Boulet

Alex Barre-Boulet has a new home. The 24-year-old center has been claimed off waivers by the Seattle Kraken.

When the Lightning waived him, it was easy to predict that another team would give him a shot. Over the last three seasons with the Syracuse Crunch, he's had a lot of success offensively. In his 10 games with the AHL squad last season, he scored eight goals and had 12 points. He also scored three goals with the Lightning in 15 games.

Barre-Boulet does stand a good shot of making Seattle's roster for the start of the regular season. They have a lot of forwards, so it'll be interesting to see where he fits into their lineup. At the Expansion Draft, the Kraken selected Yanni Gourde from the Lightning, so he will have a familiar face waiting for him there.

Nonetheless, this is a smart move by the Kraken. Barre-Boulet has the tools to become a solid scorer in this league. He just needs to reach his full potential.
