Seattle Kraken Officially Sign Depth Forward To AHL Deal
Earlier this off-season, the Seattle Kraken signed forward Scott Wilson to a professional tryout contract. Now, they are keeping the 29-year-old in their system, as he's signed an AHL contract with the Charlotte Checkers. For this season, they are the Kraken's AHL affiliate. The Florida Panthers are also affiliated with them as well.
Although Wilson did not earn himself an NHL contract, it's nice to see that he's found a home for the season. Clearly trying out for Seattle did work out for him in the end, as it was enough for Charlotte to offer him an AHL deal.
Wilson last played in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres during the 2019-20 season. In six games, he scored a goal and had an assist. This past season, he played eight games with the Syracuse Crunch, where he had a goal and two assists.
Overall, this is a good move for the AHL squad, as they are gaining a veteran who can produce well in the minors. Keep in mind, he scored 11 goals and had 22 points in 37 games with the Rochester Americans during the 2019-20 season as well.
