Sharks Non-Roster Evander Kane to Start the Season
The results of the investigation are still to be determined. Kane had a very productive season in 2020-21 despite all of the noise off the ice. From his unfortunate gambling addiction to these reports of a fake vaccine card, the news certainly keeps everyone on their toes.
As the Sharks announce their Opening Night roster, the team says, "Evander Kane is considered a non-roster player pending completion of the NHL's investigation."

On the ice Kane is legit and still has a ton of game. He scored 22 times in 56 games last season and was on pace for a career season. It's hard to say how many teams will have interest because of all the attention that comes with the move. Whoever lands Kane from the Sharks will have a supportive ownership group who believes they can handle the press and help change the narrative.
Kane has four seasons left on his contract, paying him $7 million a season. The deal also comes with some trade protection as he lists 3 teams who he formally agrees to be traded to. After that if talks don't work out with those clubs for the Sharks, they'll circle back to Kane on a case by case basis.
