Trade Rumor: Calgary Flames Made Offer for Jack Eichel
The Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres have held trade discussions in the past couple of months and Jack Eichel was the main focus of those talks.
The Flames have been in on the Sabres captain since it was made public he would be getting moved and to now, nothing has materialized.
Friedman on The Jeff Marek Show talking about how Eichel would be open to go anywhere at this point: "One of the teams we knew that was really big into it was Calgary. Calgary really tried and not once did anyone ever say to me he (Eichel) wouldn't go to Calgary".

Eichel has been open to playing anywhere else but Buffalo but continues to battle it out with management and ownership over which type of back procedure he's going to have done. As far as on the ice, Eichel is elite and still young enough at 24 where he's going to be capable of coming back from surgery. He recorded 18 points in 21 games last season.
Talks between the Flames and Sabres likely involved forward Dillon Dube, defenseman Rasmus Andersson, and Flames goalie prospect Dustin Wolf. The Sabres still aren't ready to pull the trigger on a deal just yet. The saga continues...
