Trade Rumor: Chicago Blackhawks May Move Young Forward
Dylan Strome was a popular name in the rumor mill this summer, but a deal did not occur. Now, according to Elliotte Friedman's latest 32 Thoughts piece, the Chicago Blackhawks still could end up moving him.
Strome's role with the team has been lowered due to Jonathan Toews returning, the arrival of Tyler Johnson and Kirby Dach. Friedman also noted that head coach Jeremy Colliton talked about Strome playing on their fourth line this season. That certainly is not an ideal spot for the offensively-driven forward. Strome also is expected to be a healthy scratch for the team's season opener.
Strome has one more left on his current contract and carries a $3 million cap hit. In 40 games last season, he scored nine goals and had 17 points. He has been capable of producing a lot of offense in the past, though. After originally being traded to Chicago during the 2018-19 season, he had 51 points in 58 games. The former third overall pick can be a very solid point producer, but has failed to replicate those totals since.Adam Gaudette & Dylan Strome, the two forwards expected to serve as healthy scratches tomorrow, are among the final #Blackhawks players on the ice for the conclusion of training camp. pic.twitter.com/n5kKqwCJDf

Teams looking for a bit more strength down the middle should consider him. He's a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
