Trade Rumor: Chicago Blackhawks Reject Ottawa Senators Offer
According to reports the Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks have held trade discussions around Blackhawks center Dylan Strome. The two sides were in contact over the summer and were unable to work out a deal. Strome has yet to play in Chicago this season and the team continues to gauge the market.
Strome is still only 24 years old and has been a productive player in Chicago after a trade from the Arizona Coyotes. His first season in the Windy City, Strome put up 51 points in 58 games and in 2020-21 had 17 points in 40 games as his ice-time decreased under head coach Jeremy Colliton.
Rumor has the Senators were willing to part with Chris Tierney in the deal, however the Blackhawks wanted more in return. This deal would essentially be trading two very similar players for one another and wouldn't necessarily make either team better.
Look for the Blackhawks to get Strome in the lineup as the team has struggled to score 5 on 5. Will it be a showcase? Likely, as Strome's days as a Blackhawk appear to be numbered.
