Trade Rumor: Columbus Blue Jackets Goaltender Heading To Edmonton Oilers
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Edmonton Oilers are still looking at Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. He also noted that it's likely that the Oilers will consider adding him at the trade deadline.
Korpisalo was a popular name in the rumor mill during the off-season, but a trade did not occur. His contract is set to expire and he has an affordable $2.8 million cap hit. Goaltending is the primary question mark with the Oilers at this juncture, so it is not surprising to hear that they are once again linked to Korpisalo. Is staying in Columbus in Joonas Korpisalo's future? #NHLNow pic.twitter.com/RuqgYX1arn

Korpisalo's future in Columbus is very murky, especially when remembering that they signed goaltender Elvis Merzlikins to a five-year, $27 million contract extension this off-season. It would be smart for them to bring some assets in for Korpisalo because of this.
In 33 games last season, Korpisalo had a 9-13-7 record and .894 SV%. In two games this season, he has a .908 SV% and 0-2 record.
