Trade Rumor: Los Angeles Kings To Add Right-Handed Defenseman
With Sean Walker done for the season and Drew Doughty out for at least the next eight weeks, it's apparent that the Los Angeles Kings are in need of another right-handed defenseman. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Kings are looking to do just that.
LeBrun also noted that there's a good chance that it would be a depth defenseman. Given the fact that it's the beginning of the regular season, they aren't too many big-name defensemen on the trading block. Even with this, the Kings have no choice but to work the phones if they truly want to turn this ship around and have any chance of making the playoffs.
The Kings currently sport a 1-5-1 record, so it's fair to say that it's not been a good start for them. General manager Rob Blake was aggressive this off-season because he wants the team to be competitive. Right now, they are struggling to be and are now without two key defensemen.
One has to wonder if they will give Jason Demers a call. The 33-year-old defenseman is still a free agent and has a ton of experience.
