Trade Rumor: Ottawa Senators Shopping For Top-9 Scoring
The Ottawa Senators are off to a decent start and the team is already looking to improve their hockey club. According to Chris Johnston of TSN, the Sens are trying to upgrade down the middle and on the wing, in an attempt to land some more scoring punch for their top-three lines.
In regards to what the Senators are willing to give up in any deal, Johnston points out the team has 11 draft picks at the upcoming 2022 NHL draft and a cupboard full of prospects that will certainly appeal to a number of teams.
Some targets to consider are Dylan Strome of the Chicago Blackhawks, Clayton Keller of the Arizona Coyotes, Vitali Kravtsov of the New York Rangers and Tomas Hertl of the San Jose Sharks.
The Senators lost to the Sharks on Thursday night as goaltender Matt Murray made his season debut and so too did Brady Tkachuk, who recently signed a long-term mega-extension. The contract proves he wants to win in Ottawa and now it's up to management to go out and add some talent to their mix.
