Travis Hamonic Returning From Leave Of Absence
The Vancouver Canucks have announced that Travis Hamonic will be returning from his temporary leave of absence within the next few days. From here, he will be joining their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks.
There was a lot of uncertainty following Hamonic during training camp and some insiders speculated that he was contemplating retirement. However, he now is set to return and one has to assume that he will soon be back with the NHL club after some conditioning in the minors. He was signed to a two-year, $6 million contract this summer, of course.Statement from #Canucks General Manager Jim Benning: pic.twitter.com/jkLlTxjmSY

This is certainly good news for the Canucks, as Hamonic will help strengthen the right side of their defense. He worked well on a pair with Quinn Hughes last season, so don't be surprised to see the two reunited.
The Canucks currently have a 3-3-1 record, so they have done fine enough without Hamonic. We will have to wait and see if they can do even better by having the defensive defenseman back.
