Vancouver Canucks Place Forward On Waivers

The Vancouver Canucks have placed forward Nic Petan on waivers. Petan made Vancouver's NHL roster out of camp, but did not appear in a regular season contest for them.

Teams looking for a little more depth upfront could consider claiming Petan. He's currently on a two-way contract that pays him only $750,000 at the NHL level.

Petan has spent the last few seasons splitting time in both the NHL and AHL. In seven games last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he had an assist. With the Marlies, he scored seven goals and had 15 points in 14 games. During the 2019-20 season with the Marlies, he also had 31 points in 25 games. Thus, he is a very solid scorer at the AHL level.

We will have to wait and see if a team takes a chance on the 26-year-old versatile forward.
