Vegas Golden Knights Claim Forward Off Waivers From Toronto Maple Leafs
The Vegas Golden Knights have claimed forward Michael Amadio off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
When Amadio was placed on waivers by the Leafs on Friday afternoon, it seemed certainly possible that he would be claimed. He may not be a star in this league, but he certainly is capable of playing bottom-six minutes when called upon. With the Golden Knights also having injury trouble, it does make their decision easy to understand.
Amadio suited up in three games for the Leafs this season, but was held off the scoresheet. Between the Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings last season, he had three assists in 25 games. In the past, he has produced fairly well at the NHL level. In 68 games with the Kings during the 2019-20 season, he scored six goals and had 16 points in 68 games.
It will be interesting to see how Amadio responds to Vegas claiming him. This is a fresh new start for the 25-year-old. Perhaps it's what he needs.
