Vegas Golden Knights Sign Defenseman To Six-Year Extension
The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenseman Zach Whitecloud to a six-year contract extension. It will have an AAV of $2.75 million and begin during the 2022-23 season. Whitecloud was set to become a restricted free agent next summer.
Whitecloud originally went undrafted, but was signed as a college free agent by the Vegas Golden Knights during the 2017-18 free agent. After a few years in the minors, he would become a mainstay in their top-six due to his reliable defensive play.Weather Report: it's going to be cloudy for the next SIX YEARS ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

The 24-year-old had a breakout campaign last season. In 51 games, he scored two goals and had 12 points. In four games this season so far, he has recorded an assist. Given the fact that he is still young, there's a good chance that we haven't seen the best from Whitecloud yet.
Nonetheless, congrats to Zach for not only getting a big raise, but also long-term security at the NHL level.
