Video: Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger Drops The Gloves With Stars' Gurianov
Columbus Blue Jackets rookie Cole Sillinger is continuing to make an impact with the NHL club. After throwing a big hit on Joe Pavelski, Dennis Gurianov dropped the gloves with the 18-year-old. For Sillinger's first NHL fight, he certainly handled himself well.
The primary negative from the tilt was that the referees did not let the two fight for very long. It would have been interesting to see them allow Gurianov to regroup, as the 24-year-old winger clearly wanted to continue going.
These two players have a few things in common that are interesting, too. Not only do both players wear #34, but they each were 12th overall picks by their franchises. Sillinger of course was drafted this summer, while Gurianov was back in 2015.
Maybe we will see these drop the gloves again when these two meet again on December 2nd. If they do, hopefully the refs will let them for a longer period of time.
