Video: Brian Boyle Scores Goal In NHL Return

Brian Boyle played his first game since the 2019-20 season in the Pittsburgh Penguins' season opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 36-year-old center certainly didn't look out of place, as he scored a very nice goal on superstar goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy.
Boyle had joined the Penguins on a PTO at the start of the preseason and just signed a one-year deal a few hours before the game. He certainly showed his gratitude by getting on the scoresheet so quickly.

With the Penguins having injuries to both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, Boyle will be getting consistent playing time for now. The 6'7" center should be able to provide a lot of physicality and a bit of depth scoring in the process.

In 39 games with the Florida Panthers during the 2019-20 season, Boyle had six goals and 15 points. If he can replicate that production with the Penguins in their bottom-six, it would be fantastic for the team.

The Penguins would defeat the defending Stanley Cup champs 6-2.
