Video: Canadiens' Cedric Paquette Boards Ducks' Trevor Zegras

In Sunday afternoon's contest against the Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens forward Cedric Paquette received a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct after a dirty hit on Trevor Zegras.

Following the hit, Zegras was in clear pain. Anaheim's trainer also placed a towel on his head, so one can assume he was bleeding. It is important to note that although Zegras did turn before the hit, his numbers were shown to Paquette the entire time he had the puck. Thus, Paquette had time to process this, but decided not to let up.

Although many fans may feel confident that a suspension is coming for Paquette, I would honestly wait and see what happens. It's hard to predict the decision making by NHL Player Safety. Brandon Duhaime of the Minnesota Wild didn't receive any further punishment for his dirty hit on Colorado Avalanche Bowen Byram Saturday night when it seemed inevitable that he would.

Alas, we will see what happens when it comes to Paquette. Here's to hoping Zegras is okay and won't miss any time from it.
