Video: Dougie Hamilton Scores Very Quickly In Debut With New Jersey Devils
17 seconds. It took Dougie Hamilton only 17 seconds to score his first regular season goal as a member of the New Jersey Devils. After receiving a nice pass from Pavel Zacha, Hamilton quickly took a wrist shot and beat Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Kevin Lankinen for the goal.
Hamilton was the biggest free agent on the market this summer and the Devils were the lucky winners. They signed the 28-year-old defenseman to a seven-year, $63 million contract, so he will be a Devil for a long time.WE JUST LEARNED HOW TO DOUGIE! pic.twitter.com/nqSezWRx4g

Hamilton is a spectacular offensive defenseman who has improved defensively over the years. In 55 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes, he scored 10 goals and had 42 points. Therefore, he's expected to produce a lot of points on New Jersey's top-pair and power play.
Nonetheless, Hamilton has left a wonderful first impression with his new team.
