Video: Jesperi Kotkaniemi Scores First Goal With Carolina Hurricanes Against His Former Team
Jesperi Kotkaniemi returned to the Bell Centre Thursday night when the Carolina Hurricanes took on the Montreal Canadiens. After signing an offer sheet with the Hurricanes this summer, Kotkaniemi was met with a ton of boos from Montreal fans. That didn't seem to bother the 21-year-old, as he scored his first goal as Hurricane after a nice tip-in.
Heading into the game, it was known that the possibility of Kotkaniemi doing this was there. However, seeing it come into fruition certainly was quite fitting and entertaining.Couldn't have scripted it any better pic.twitter.com/ZDWWX4xFzD

Kotkaniemi's goal would provide the Hurricanes with needed insurance. Carolina would end up defeating the Canadiens by a final score of 4-1. With this loss, the Canadiens now sport a 0-5-0 record. The Hurricanes, on the other hand, are 3-0-0.
Kotkaniemi also put money on the board for last night's tilt as well. Overall, he certainly seems to fitting in well with the Hurricanes. Congrats to him for scoring against his former team.Offering the stats sheet for y'all pic.twitter.com/80RhbELzSs
