Video: Joe Thornton Spears Lightning's Boris Katchouk Below The Belt

In Tuesday night's game between the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, Joe Thornton made a very dirty play and speared Boris Katchouk, well, downstairs. Before Thornton did this, he was shoved by Katchouk during a puck battle along the boards. Thus, it was clear retaliation on Thornton's end.

After the play, it was apparent that Katchouk was in pain, as he was hunched over. Thornton only received a two-minute penalty on the play, but easily could have gotten more.

It will be interesting to see if he ends up having a date with NHL Player Safety. It was a dirty play, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he does.
