Video: Jonathan Drouin Scores In His Return!
Jonathan Drouin returned to the Montreal Canadiens for their season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Last season, he took a leave of absence and revealed this off-season that he left to focus on his mental health. Now, the 26-year-old is back and already scored a goal last night after a nice feed from Josh Anderson.
Drouin stated that he was struggling with insomnia during last regular season because of his anxiety. After not being able to sleep for three straight nights before Montreal's game against the Calgary Flames on April 23, he would not play. From here, he decided to take his leave of absence and did not return for both the remainder of the regular season and entire postseason.BON RETOUR, JO!!!#GoHabsGo pic.twitter.com/XRgEocubuA

No matter who you cheer for, it's hard not to feel happy for the 26-year-old winger. The Canadiens will benefit from having him back in their lineup, as he is capable of producing offense quite well. Last night's a clear example of that. However, more importantly, he has said that he's feeling a lot better now than he did last season. That's ultimately the real win with this at the end of the day.
